Why Register?
- Control the article sources Headup uses for the News tab – Increase internal traffic by selecting your site as a Headup source. Add your blogroll buddies to create your own blogger network.
- Control what gets marked – Headup providing markings you'd rather not see? Use the dashboard to blacklist them.
- Select your default tab – Rather show videos as your default tab? Now you can! Use the dashboard to select your widget's default tab.

Headup Wordpress Plugin
The Headup Wordpress plugin is easy to install and can be accomplished
directly from within your Wordpress dashboard or via FTP:
Option 1 – Installing Headup from your Wordpress Dashboard:
(recommended for non-techies)
- 1From the "Plugins" menu in your Wordpress Dashboard click the "Add New" button
- 2Use the "Search" box to search for the Headup plugin
- 3Click the "Install" button for the Headup plugin located on the right side
- 4Click the orange "Install Now" button
- 5Click the "Activate Plugin" link from the "Actions" options
- Congratulations! You're done!

Option 2 – Installing Headup via FTP:
- 1Download the Headup plugin from here
- 2Put the plugin folder into:
[wordpress_dir]/wp-content/plugins/ - 3Enter your Wordpress Dashboard's plugin interface and activate the plugin
- Congratulations! You're done!
Want to customize your plugin and access the publisher dashboard?
- 1click here to register your Headup user Id
- 2Copy your user Id
- 3Access your Headup plugin's settings from within your Wordpress dashboard via Settings ⇒ Headup Widget
- 4Paste your user Id in the dialog box
- 5Save your settings
- You're done
Please note that regardless of whether you install the generic widget or a customized version it takes about 10 minutes after installation for Headup annotations to start appearing on your content.
